Position Summary:

This is an entry to mid level graphic design position reporting to the Marketing Creative Manager. The Specialist I or II Graphic Designer will collaborate with the Creative Manager and marketing members to develop cross-channel creative design that supports Hannaford’s brand and marketing strategies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Translate strategic briefs into compelling creative designs for a variety of mediums including print,
    email and digital.
  • Help drive creative consistency by adhering to Hannaford’s brand standards as well as managing the
    brand to maintain brand and logo integrity.
  • Follow established guidelines for brand design and brand identity for Hannaford, Hannaford To Go, My Hannaford Rewards, Pharmacy and Store Brand marketing tactics.
  • Work closely with other creatives, photographers and cross-functional partners to achieve a high level of quality in all design and creative work.
  • Help create design templates to drive efficiencies.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Proactively solicit feedback to continually improve and evolve the work and your design skills.
  • Effective at selling ideas and explaining the business rationale that supports your design direction.
  • Collaborate with the Strategy and Production teams to ensure objectives for the project and deadlines for on-time delivery of tactics are met.
  • Art direct photoshoots and collaborate with the Photographer and Food Stylist.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in art, graphic design, advertising or a related field.

Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably with digital experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a marketing/design agency with retail clients

Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of design principles and current trends.
  • Digital design experience is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms and current digital design trends is preferred.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work requests, based on deliverables and timing.
  • Proficient skills in Adobe Creative Suite programs, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
    HTML5 knowledge.
  • Team player that is ok doing production work.
  • Ability to take direction and implement feedback to make work stronger.
  • Experience working on photoshoots or collaborating with those who do is preferred.
  • Familiarity (or deep obsession) with food.
